Introduction
Ovulation test strips detect the time of ovulation by measuring changes in luteinizing hormone (LH). When the test strip starts showing a positive result and gradually becomes strongly positive, two distinct lines will be clearly visible on the day of ovulation. However, ovulation test results are only for reference and cannot definitively confirm whether ovulation has occurred. For greater accuracy, it is best to have an ultrasound examination at the hospital.

Ovulation test strips detect the time of ovulation by monitoring changes in luteinizing hormone (LH). When the test strip begins to show a positive result and gradually becomes strongly positive, two distinct lines will be clearly visible on the day of ovulation. Since menstrual cycles vary from person to person, for women with regular cycles, it is generally recommended to start testing on day 10 of the menstrual cycle, performing one test daily. The specific testing procedure is as follows:

1. Purchase ovulation test strips from a reputable pharmacy. Check that the outer packaging is intact and that the product is within its expiration date. If everything appears normal, tear open the aluminum foil pouch along the notch and remove the test strip.

2. Use a clean, dry container to collect urine between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Test at the same time each day using urine collected at that consistent time.

3. Dip the end of the test strip marked with the indicator line into the urine sample, ensuring the liquid level does not exceed the indicator line. Remove the strip after three seconds, lay it flat, and wait 10–20 minutes to read the result.

4. A test result is considered positive or strongly positive when the test line is darker than the control line, indicating a significant rise in LH levels. When subsequent tests begin to show lighter lines, the previous test time point can be identified as the LH peak, meaning ovulation is likely to occur within 24–48 hours.

Note: Results from ovulation test strips are only for reference and cannot definitively confirm whether ovulation has occurred. For greater accuracy, it is best to undergo an ultrasound examination at a hospital.
