Can Baofukang suppositories and interferon be used simultaneously?
Baofukang suppositories and interferon can be used alternately or separately. Their combined use is primarily for the treatment of HPV infection in the cervix.
Baofukang suppositories are mainly used for excessive vaginal discharge that is yellowish and accompanied by itching caused by various pathogens responsible for vaginitis. This medication has functions of promoting qi circulation, removing blood stasis, killing bacteria, reducing inflammation, clearing necrotic tissue, and promoting tissue regeneration. It is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation intended for external use only and should not be taken orally. Interferon has antiviral effects, enhancing the body's resistance, suppressing viral infection, and helping to clear HPV infection. After using interferon, side effects such as headache, fatigue, and low-grade fever may occur, but these usually resolve spontaneously without specific treatment.
During treatment, maintain cleanliness and dryness of the external genital area, change underwear frequently. If severe symptoms such as external genital itching, redness, swelling, or a burning sensation occur during medication, discontinue use promptly and switch to alternative treatments. Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment, and unprotected sex is not recommended. Regular physical exercise is advised to strengthen the immune system.
