Should the Ji Xue Geng tablets be taken after surgery or after suture removal?
Contractubex tablets can be taken after suture removal, usually within 1–2 weeks. Taking them too early may interfere with wound healing, causing prolonged recovery. Taking them too late may lead to scar hypertrophy.
1. Taking too early
The main active ingredient in Contractubex tablets is total glucosides of centella. These are white, odorless tablets with a bitter taste. Contractubex promotes angiogenesis and improves blood circulation, while also activating epithelial cells to accelerate wound healing; therefore, they should be taken soon after suture removal. However, they should not be taken immediately after surgery, as early use may disrupt scar formation and delay normal wound healing.
2. Taking too late
Contractubex is indicated for external injuries, promoting wound healing and inhibiting scar tissue formation following surgical trauma or burns. If taken too late, it will fail to suppress scar tissue and may instead result in excessive scar growth.
In daily life, avoid spicy and irritating foods. Consume more high-protein foods such as lean beef and eggs to promote wound repair and healing.
