Introduction
There is a dent below the left chest, which may be caused by factors such as obesity, mammary gland hyperplasia, or pectus excavatum. It is recommended that the patient seek medical attention at a hospital as early as possible and undergo relevant examinations to receive appropriate treatment. In individuals with obesity, excess body fat, including increased fat within the breast tissue, may lead to an uneven surface, potentially causing small pit-like changes under the skin of the left breast.

There is a depression below the left chest, which may be caused by obesity, mammary hyperplasia, pectus excavatum, or other reasons. It is recommended that patients seek medical attention at a hospital as early as possible and undergo appropriate examinations for targeted treatment.

1. Obesity

In individuals with obesity, excess body fat can lead to an uneven appearance in the breast area, possibly resulting in small pit-like depressions under the skin of the left chest. This condition typically does not require special treatment. With proper exercise and weight loss, subcutaneous fat throughout the body gradually decreases, and the depression below the left chest will also fade over time.

2. Mammary Hyperplasia

When a patient has elevated levels of estrogen, it may stimulate mammary gland hyperplasia, causing local swelling. The tension on the breast skin from this swelling can create a sunken, pit-like area below the left chest. Treatment may include anti-estrogen medications such as tamoxifen citrate tablets, clomiphene citrate tablets, or nilestriol tablets, taken as directed by a physician.

3. Pectus Excavatum

Pectus excavatum is a congenital condition often associated with family history, primarily characterized by a concave deformity of the anterior chest wall and forward sloping shoulders, which may result in a noticeable pit below the left chest. Patients are advised to undergo electrocardiogram (ECG) and CT scans as early as possible. Under medical guidance, corrective surgery for pectus excavatum may be considered.

Besides the above causes, breast cancer may also lead to such symptoms. Patients are advised to carefully differentiate the underlying cause and actively pursue appropriate treatment.
