Introduction
A small white spot inside the eyelid causing eye irritation may result from excessive oil secretion blocking the meibomian gland opening; in such cases, the fatty granule can be removed with a sterilized needle. If caused by a stye (hordeolum), treatment may include tobramycin eye drops, chlortetracycline eye ointment, or surgical drainage of pus. If due to a chalazion, treatment options include intralesional injection of betamethasone sodium phosphate or dexamethasone sodium phosphate, or incision and curettage.

A small white spot inside the eyelid causing eye irritation may be due to physiological factors or pathological conditions such as hordeolum (stye) or chalazion.

1. Physiological Factors

This may result from frequent熬夜, prolonged mental stress, or regularly consuming greasy foods such as fatty meat or spicy hot pot, leading to excessive oil secretion that blocks the meibomian gland openings. It is recommended that a healthcare professional remove the lipid granule using a sterilized needle. Maintain a light diet and ensure proper skin cleanliness and hygiene.

2. Pathological Factors

1) Hordeolum (Stye)
If makeup is left on the eyes, contact lenses become contaminated, or if one frequently rubs the eyes with dirty hands—leading to infection by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus—a stye may develop, resulting in an abscess on the eyelid. As directed by a physician, anti-inflammatory medications such as tobramycin eye drops, chlortetracycline eye ointment, or levofloxacin eye drops may be used. In some cases, surgical drainage may be necessary.

2) Chalazion
Frequent consumption of meat, overactive meibomian gland secretion, or underlying conditions such as chronic conjunctivitis can block the meibomian glands, causing secretions to accumulate and form a localized white nodule. Treatment may include corticosteroid injections as prescribed, such as betamethasone sodium phosphate injection, dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection, or hydrocortisone injection. If conservative treatment proves ineffective, surgical excision (incision and curettage) may be recommended by a doctor.

In addition, other conditions such as eye stones may also cause similar symptoms. It is important to identify the underlying cause and follow medical advice for appropriate treatment.
