What causes pain in the left lung?
Left lung pain may be caused by pulmonary contusion, pneumonia, tuberculosis, or other reasons.
1. Pulmonary Contusion
This may result from stretching or impact to the lungs, causing alveolar damage or injury to the chest wall tissues.
2. Pneumonia
This may occur due to infections by bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia, etc. After invading the respiratory tract, these pathogens multiply extensively, leading to congestion and edema of the pulmonary capillaries and resulting in pneumonia.
3. Tuberculosis
This may develop after long-term exposure to dust, which damages pulmonary epithelial nodules, leading to decreased immunity or infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, thus causing pulmonary tuberculosis.
In addition to the above causes, lung cancer could also be a possible reason. It is recommended to seek treatment based on the underlying cause.
