1. Eyelid swelling and pain

This condition is a bacterial infection causing inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, often involving deeper layers such as muscle and fat. As a result, patients may experience significant redness, swelling, and pain in one or both eyelids and surrounding tissues.

2. Burning sensation in the eyelid

Following acute inflammation of the eyelid, the local immune defense mechanisms are activated. This leads to persistent engorgement of local blood vessels, glands, lymphatic tissues, and others, resulting in an increased surface temperature in the affected area.

3. Restricted eye movement

When the tissues around the eye become swollen, not only is the normal function of the periocular muscles affected, but the ocular tissues are also compressed and irritated. This can lead to varying degrees of limitation in eye movement.

Other symptoms such as eye protrusion and systemic high fever may also be present in eyelid cellulitis.
