Introduction
An HbA1c level of 5.9% is generally within the normal range, as the normal value for HbA1c is 4%–6%. However, since 5.9% is close to the upper limit of normal, it's advisable to also monitor postprandial (2-hour after meal) blood glucose and fasting blood glucose levels regularly. Diabetic patients usually need to have their HbA1c tested every three months, and should maintain a light, healthy diet in daily life.
