Introduction
Take propranolol (brand name: Inderal) half an hour to one hour before the driving test. Propranolol is a medication belonging to the class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It primarily acts on beta receptors in the heart, effectively slowing down the heart rate and thereby exerting an indirect blood pressure-lowering effect. The heart rate-slowing effect can be used to treat rapid cardiac arrhythmias.

Propranolol is generally taken half an hour to one hour before the driving test (Subject 3).

Propranolol, also known as Inderal, is a medication belonging to the class of beta-blockers. It primarily acts on beta receptors in the heart, effectively slowing down heart rate and thereby exerting an indirect blood pressure-lowering effect. The heart rate-reducing effect makes it useful in treating rapid cardiac arrhythmias, such as sinus tachycardia, and decreases the heart muscle's own oxygen consumption, making it particularly effective in managing angina pectoris.

After oral administration, peak plasma concentration of propranolol is usually reached within 1 to 3 hours, with an elimination half-life of approximately 3 to 4 hours. For individuals preparing for the driving test (Subject 3), taking the medication half an hour to one hour beforehand can help slow the heart rate and prevent myocardial ischemia. Blood pressure should be closely monitored during use; if hypotension occurs, the dosage should be reduced promptly. Heart rate should not fall below 55 beats per minute while taking this medication. Patients with conditions such as bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are advised against using propranolol.

When taking propranolol, patients should consult a cardiologist at a正规 hospital and use the medication strictly under medical supervision—self-medication is not recommended.
