Introduction
If the eye is injured by a firecracker, and there is mild redness, swelling, or bleeding locally, apply ice packs. If blisters develop on the skin around the eye, treat with erythromycin ointment, diclofenac sodium eye drops, or levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops. For skin bleeding around the eye, disinfect with iodophor and promptly go to the hospital for dressing. In cases of eye protrusion or rupture of the eyeball, enucleation surgery may be required.

Eye injuries caused by firecrackers can generally be treated with physical therapy, medication, or surgical intervention.

1. Physical Therapy

If the eye injury is not severe and there is mild local swelling or bleeding, apply a cold compress or ice pack to the affected area using a cold towel or ice cube. This helps constrict local blood vessels and reduce bleeding.

2. Medication

If blisters develop on the skin around the eyes, treatment under medical guidance may include erythromycin ointment, diclofenac sodium eye drops, or levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops to help prevent infection. If there is bleeding from the skin around the eye, promptly disinfect the area with iodophor and go to the hospital for proper dressing and care.

3. Surgical Treatment

If the eye damage is severe—such as in cases of proptosis (bulging eyeball) or ruptured globe—treatment may involve enucleation (surgical removal of the eye), as recommended by a physician.
