What is red dysentery?
Red dysentery in clinical terms refers to dysentery. Dysentery is an infectious intestinal disease, usually caused by bacterial or parasitic infection of the intestines.
Dysentery is commonly associated with pathogens such as Shigella bacteria and amoebas. It can spread through fecal-oral transmission, sharing food and drinks, or blood-borne routes, leading to cross-infection. Common signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting, and bloody stools.
The disease is typically managed primarily with drug therapy, supplemented by other treatments. Under a doctor's guidance, patients may use medications such as benzathine penicillin injection, levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, and sparfloxacin tablets for anti-infective treatment. Additionally, following medical advice, drugs such as sodium chloride injection, smectite powder, and atropine sulfate tablets may be used to help relieve symptoms like dizziness, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
