Introduction
If a conjunctival injury is only a minor abrasion without bleeding, it may heal within 3 to 5 days. If there is a laceration but no tissue loss in the conjunctiva, healing may take about one week. If the conjunctival laceration is accompanied by tissue loss, especially if the defect is large or the wound is irregular, surgical repair may be required, and recovery could take 1 to 2 weeks. If other injuries are also present, healing may take longer than 2 weeks.

The recovery time for conjunctival injury generally depends on the severity of the damage.

1. Mild: If it is only a minor abrasion without obvious bleeding, the injury usually heals on its own within about 3 to 5 days.

2. Moderate: If there is a laceration but no tissue loss, and the tear exceeds 4 millimeters, surgical treatment with continuous or interrupted sutures may be required, and healing typically takes about one week.

3. Severe: If the injury is serious, with conjunctival laceration accompanied by tissue loss, especially when the defect area is large or the wound is irregular, reconstructive surgery may be necessary, and healing may take 1 to 2 weeks. If other injuries are also present, the recovery period may exceed two weeks.
