What causes a bloated, hard stomach and nausea?
Bloating, hardness in the abdomen, nausea, and similar symptoms are usually associated with conditions such as indigestion, chronic gastroenteritis, intestinal polyposis, and other diseases.
1. Indigestion: This is a functional disorder. It interferes with the normal functioning of gastrointestinal tissues such as the stomach and intestines, prolonging the breakdown and absorption of nutrients. This often leads to excessive gas production within the gastrointestinal tract, causing discomforts such as abdominal fullness, nausea, acid reflux, and others.
2. Chronic Gastroenteritis: When gastrointestinal tissues like the stomach and intestines are affected by long-term inflammation, not only is normal digestive function severely impaired, but localized or widespread organic damage may also occur. Affected by these combined factors, patients may experience symptoms including abdominal distension, pain, and frequent nausea.
3. Intestinal Polyposis: After space-occupying lesions develop in the intestine, they can cause narrowing or obstruction of the intestinal lumen. When the passage for gas through the intestines is blocked, typical symptoms such as abdominal bloating, nausea, and constipation may appear.
However, the possibility of other diseases such as colorectal cancer cannot be entirely ruled out. Therefore, patients need to visit a hospital for examination and evaluation to achieve an accurate diagnosis.
