Introduction
Coughing after lung nodule surgery may last for 2 to 4 weeks, or up to approximately 6 weeks, depending on individual circumstances. For patients with good physical condition, coughing usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks. However, in patients with poor health, or when the surgery causes lung tissue trauma, bronchial mucosal damage, or inflammatory changes in the lungs, coughing may persist for about 6 weeks.

After lung nodule surgery, coughing may last for 2 to 4 weeks, or sometimes around 6 weeks, depending on individual circumstances.

1. 2–4 weeks

Coughing following lung nodule surgery is usually caused by surgical trauma or inflammatory stimulation. During the recovery of lung tissue, coughing helps expel mucus and blood from the airways, preventing postoperative lung infections. If the patient is in good physical condition and recovers quickly, coughing typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks.

2. Around 6 weeks

If the patient has poor overall health, or if the surgery caused significant lung tissue injury, damage to bronchial mucosa, or changes due to pulmonary inflammation, recovery may be slower, and coughing could persist for approximately 6 weeks.

It is recommended to maintain proper postoperative care after lung nodule surgery to reduce the risk of infection and promote recovery.
