Introduction
The sensation of gurgling in the abdomen with gas moving around can be caused by both physiological and pathological factors. Common causes include acute gastroenteritis and duodenal bulb ulcer. Consuming excessive amounts of gas-producing foods may lead to accumulation of excess gas in the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in bowel distension. Adjusting diet, engaging in moderate physical exercise, and abdominal massage may help promote gastrointestinal emptying.

The symptom of gurgling intestines with a sensation of gas moving around in the abdomen may be caused by physiological or pathological factors. Common underlying conditions include acute gastroenteritis and duodenal bulb ulcer.

I. Physiological Factors

If an individual consumes excessive amounts of gas-producing foods, it can lead to an accumulation of excess gas in the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in intestinal distension and noticeable gurgling sounds within the intestines. Affected individuals can improve these symptoms by adjusting their diet, engaging in moderate physical exercise, and performing abdominal massage to promote gastrointestinal emptying and prevent excessive gas buildup.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Acute Gastroenteritis

After infection of gastric and intestinal tissues by harmful microorganisms, inflammation and swelling of the mucosal lining may occur, leading to increased pressure within the intestinal lumen. Patients often experience symptoms such as abdominal pain, hyperactive bowel sounds, and diarrhea. Based on fecal biochemical test results and under medical guidance, patients may use medications such as ciprofloxacin capsules, roxithromycin dispersible tablets, or enteritis relief tablets for anti-infective treatment to alleviate the aforementioned symptoms.

2. Duodenal Bulb Ulcer

This condition is commonly associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. The bacterium reacts chemically with the digestive tract's mucosal lining, producing excessive gas. Over time, this gas accumulates locally in the intestine, causing prominent gurgling or fluid-splashing sounds. Under medical supervision, patients may undergo a full course of anti-Helicobacter pylori therapy using medications such as metronidazole tablets, clindamycin capsules, omeprazole capsules, and mosapride citrate capsules.

Other conditions such as intestinal polyps may also cause similar symptoms. Individuals experiencing these symptoms should seek medical evaluation at a hospital for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
