Introduction
Stage 1a2 lung adenocarcinoma does not necessarily recur in the early phase. If it is in situ or minimally invasive lung adenocarcinoma, with a relatively small lesion and no lymph node or distant organ metastasis, and if there are no underlying medical conditions, most cases do not recur after treatment. However, if it is invasive lung adenocarcinoma with a larger lesion, presence of metastasis, or significant comorbidities, the prognosis is often less favorable and recurrence may occur.

Whether stage 1A2 early-stage lung adenocarcinoma will always recur depends on the specific circumstances.

1. Not all cases will recur

If stage 1A2 early lung adenocarcinoma is classified as in situ adenocarcinoma or minimally invasive adenocarcinoma, with a relatively small lesion and no lymph node or distant organ metastasis—limited only to the lung and pleura of the bronchus—and if the patient has no underlying diseases and actively cooperates with the physician to undergo radical surgery for complete tumor removal, the post-treatment cure rate is relatively high and the prognosis is favorable; thus, recurrence may not occur in all cases.

2. Recurrence may occur in all cases

If stage 1A2 early lung adenocarcinoma is invasive adenocarcinoma, with a larger lesion or evidence of metastasis, or if the patient has poor physical condition and severe underlying diseases, even with active treatment, the clinical improvement is often unsatisfactory, and recurrence may be inevitable in most cases.

For patients with stage 1A2 early lung adenocarcinoma, timely medical evaluation is recommended to prolong survival and reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.
