Treatment of pulmonary ground-glass nodules with moxibustion
Lung ground-glass nodules can be treated with moxibustion, primarily by stimulating specific acupoints through the application of heat. Moxibustion should be performed under the guidance of a qualified professional. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Under the doctor's guidance, the patient assumes an appropriate position, such as sitting with feet hanging down or lying supine. The doctor examines the patient’s skin for bruises, ulcers, or lesions.
2. The practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick and holds the burning end close to the designated acupoint, maintaining a distance of approximately 2–3 centimeters from the skin, ensuring the patient feels a comfortably warm sensation.
3. The moxibustion treatment lasts about 5–10 minutes, or until the skin appears slightly reddened.
After moxibustion, it is recommended to drink an appropriate amount of warm water to promote metabolism; cold or iced water should be avoided.
