Introduction
Fire cupping is a type of cupping therapy that uses negative pressure to create a beneficial stimulation on the skin, serving as a traditional treatment method for various diseases. This technique involves igniting a flammable material, dropping it into the cup when approximately one-third has burned, and quickly placing the cup onto the selected treatment area. After cupping, it is important to get adequate rest and avoid cold showers to prevent interference with the therapeutic effect.

Fire insertion cupping is a type of cupping therapy that creates a negative pressure to suction the skin, producing beneficial stimulation as a traditional treatment method for various diseases. However, this technique must be performed by trained professionals. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Carefully examine the patient to identify any contraindications and determine an appropriate treatment plan based on their condition.

2. Explain the procedure clearly to the patient prior to treatment to alleviate anxiety and strengthen their confidence in the therapy.

3. Select appropriately sized glass, bamboo, or other types of cups according to the surface area of the treatment site, the patient's physical constitution, and the nature of the illness.

4. On the selected treatment area, first clean the skin with a towel soaked in hot water, then dry thoroughly with gauze. If there is hair on the treatment site, shave it off before proceeding.

5. Ignite a flammable material and, when it has burned down to about one-third of its original size, quickly drop it into the cup. Immediately place the cup onto the designated treatment area.

6. Leave the cup in place for 10–15 minutes, or until the skin under the rim of the cup turns purplish-red. To remove the cup, gently insert a finger between the rim and the skin to create a small gap, allowing air to enter the cup and release the suction.

After cupping, patients should rest adequately and avoid cold showers to prevent interference with the therapeutic effect.
