Introduction
Always check the urine bag for integrity before use, ensuring there are no damages or leaks. Make sure the bottom valve is tightly closed to prevent leakage. Disinfect both the catheter connector and the urine bag connector to avoid infection. Measure urine output according to the scale markings on the urine bag, and do not exceed 500 ml, as excessive drainage may lead to over-relaxation of the bladder or even bladder hemorrhage.

Bedridden patients usually require assistance from family members or caregivers to attach a urine bag. The steps for attaching a urine bag to bedridden patients are as follows:

1. Check the urine bag. Before use, inspect the packaging of the urine bag to ensure it is intact and free from damage or leaks.

2. Close the bottom valve tightly. Ensure the valve at the bottom of the urine bag is securely closed to prevent leakage when connecting the catheter.

3. Disinfect the connection ports. Both the catheter end and the urine bag port should be disinfected to prevent bacterial retrograde infection of the urinary tract.

4. Connect the catheter. Firmly connect the catheter to the urine bag port and position the urine bag appropriately.

It is important to note that each drainage should not exceed 500 ml; otherwise, it may lead to excessive bladder relaxation or even bladder bleeding. During care, pay attention to comforting the patient's emotions and try to talk about cheerful topics. If any discomfort occurs, call the doctor immediately.
