Introduction
The common methods for locating the injection site in the gluteus maximus are the cross method and the line method. The cross method involves dividing one buttock into four quadrants, with the upper outer quadrant serving as the injection site. Administering injections into the gluteus maximus requires repeated practice to master, and it is not recommended for patients to perform such injections on themselves. If necessary, the procedure should be carried out under the guidance of a qualified physician.

The common methods for locating the injection site in the gluteus maximus include the cross method and the line method. Taking the cross method as an example, the specific steps are as follows:

1. Locate the apex of the gluteal cleft and the highest point of the iliac crest. The apex of the gluteal cleft is generally where the skin indents to form a midline crease, just above the tip of the coccyx; the highest point of the iliac crest is typically the uppermost edge of the pelvic rim.

2. Draw a horizontal line from the apex of the gluteal cleft outward along the skin, and draw a vertical line downward from the highest point of the iliac crest.

3. These two lines divide one side of the buttock into four quadrants, with the outer upper quadrant serving as the injection site.

Administering gluteus maximus injections requires repeated practice to master. It is not recommended for patients to perform gluteal muscle injections on themselves. If necessary, the procedure should be performed under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
