Introduction
Symptoms of coughing up yellow, thick sputum mixed with blood may be closely related to a series of diseases such as acute bronchitis, tuberculosis, and bacterial pneumonia. After identifying the exact cause, patients should receive appropriate symptomatic treatment. Following infection of the bronchi by harmful microorganisms, not only can damage occur to tissues such as mucosa and capillaries, but it can also lead to excessive secretion by glands.

The symptom of coughing up yellow, thick sputum mixed with blood may be closely related to a series of diseases such as acute bronchitis, tuberculosis, and bacterial pneumonia. After identifying the exact cause, patients should receive appropriate symptomatic treatment.

1. Acute Bronchitis

After the bronchi are infected by harmful microorganisms, not only can mucosal and capillary tissues be damaged, but glandular secretions may also become excessive. This may lead to symptoms such as shortness of breath, sputum production, and bloody sputum. Based on biochemical test results and under medical guidance, patients may use medications such as Penicillin V Potassium Tablets, Benproperine Phosphate Tablets, or Juhong Granules to inhibit pathogen growth and alleviate the aforementioned symptoms.

2. Tuberculosis

In the early stages, this disease often presents no obvious signs or symptoms. As the condition progresses, typical symptoms such as cough, blood-tinged sputum, and low-grade fever in the afternoon gradually appear. Patients who are diagnosed should, under a doctor's supervision, undergo a full course of anti-tuberculosis treatment using medications such as Rifampicin Capsules, Isoniazid Tablets, and Fudosteine Tablets to target Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

3. Bacterial Pneumonia

Prolonged inflammatory stimulation of lung interstitial tissue can not only lead to excessive glandular secretion but also cause tissue damage and bleeding. This stimulates the cough center in the nervous system, triggering symptoms such as cough, sputum production, and chest pain. Leaked blood may mix with sputum, resulting in secondary symptoms like blood-tinged sputum or hemoptysis. Diagnosed patients should, based on sputum test results and under medical guidance, use medications such as Benzathine Penicillin for Injection, Roxithromycin Dispersible Tablets, or Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide Oral Solution to suppress the growth of susceptible bacteria in the body and relieve symptoms such as cough and sputum production.

Other conditions, such as lung adenocarcinoma, may also cause similar symptoms. Patients must visit a hospital for thorough evaluation and diagnosis before a definitive diagnosis can be made and appropriate treatments initiated.
