Introduction
For hand cuts, hemostasis can be achieved through methods such as pressure dressing, tourniquet application, or surgery, depending on the situation. If the wound is small, apply a pressure dressing by using cotton pads or cotton balls to press directly on the wound to stop bleeding. If bleeding persists, use a tourniquet method by wrapping a bandage or tourniquet around the proximal part of the limb to restrict blood flow. For deeper hand lacerations, surgical intervention may be necessary under medical guidance to suture severed or damaged blood vessels.

Depending on the specific situation, bleeding from a hand cut can be controlled using methods such as pressure dressing, tourniquet technique, or surgery.

1. Pressure Dressing

If the wound is relatively small, apply a pressure dressing by covering the wound with gauze or a cotton ball and applying direct pressure to stop the bleeding.

2. Tourniquet Technique

If bleeding persists despite the above method, a tourniquet technique may typically be used—wrap a bandage or tourniquet around the proximal part of the injured limb (such as the finger) to restrict blood flow and achieve hemostasis.

3. Surgery

If the hand laceration is deep, surgical intervention may be necessary under medical guidance. For example, debridement and suture procedures can be performed to repair severed or damaged blood vessels.

After a hand cut starts bleeding, proper local wound care is essential to prevent infection.
