Nine-month-old baby cries and farts during sleep
Crying and passing gas during sleep in a 9-month-old baby may be caused by indigestion, intestinal gas, gastroenteritis, or other reasons. After examination, appropriate treatment should be selected based on the underlying cause.
1. Indigestion
A baby's gastrointestinal function is still immature. Eating too much at once can easily increase the burden on the digestive system, weaken digestive function, and lead to crying during sleep. It is recommended to take medications such as Bacillus subtilis bivalent live granules or Clostridium butyricum live powder under medical guidance to regulate intestinal flora, promote digestion, and improve symptoms.
2. Intestinal Gas (Bloating)
If a baby cries for prolonged periods, it may cause strong contractions of the intestinal smooth muscles, leading to restless sleep. This can be relieved with warm compresses or gentle abdominal massage. If necessary, medications such as belladonna tablets or cimetropium bromide tablets may be taken under medical supervision to relieve intestinal smooth muscle spasms and facilitate gas expulsion to improve symptoms.
3. Gastroenteritis
Babies have relatively weak digestive systems. Abdominal chilling or consuming spoiled food may lead to gastrointestinal infection and inflammatory irritation, resulting in frequent flatulence during sleep. It is recommended to take medications such as cefixime granules, cefalexin granules, or Bifidobacterium bivalent live powder under medical guidance to control inflammation and promote gastrointestinal motility to alleviate symptoms.
In addition, colic may also be a possible cause. If symptoms persist for a long time or are accompanied by poor mental status, vomiting, or other discomforts, prompt medical attention is necessary to avoid delayed diagnosis and treatment.
