Introduction
Cholecystitis may cause uncomfortable bloating after eating, which could be due to physiological reasons or pathological conditions such as gallstones or chronic gastritis. Treatment should be directed according to the underlying cause. Additionally, factors like cholangitis might also contribute. During an episode, it's important to manage diet carefully and avoid raw, cold, spicy, and irritating foods.

Discomfort with bloating after eating in patients with cholecystitis may be caused by physiological factors, or may be related to pathological conditions such as gallstones or chronic gastritis. Appropriate treatment should be selected based on the underlying cause.

I. Physiological Causes

Cholecystitis itself is a gastrointestinal disorder. Overeating or consuming gas-producing, raw, or cold foods during an episode can easily worsen the condition, leading to symptoms such as bloating and stomach pain. These symptoms typically do not require special treatment and can resolve spontaneously through dietary adjustments.

II. Pathological Causes

1. Gallstones

Bloating after eating in cholecystitis may result from coexisting gallstones. After meals, gallbladder contraction can trigger distension and pain. Mild cases can be treated under medical guidance with medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, celecoxib capsules, or naproxen tablets. If symptoms worsen, surgical stone removal should be considered, which can help alleviate bloating after surgery.

2. Chronic Gastritis

Infection with Helicobacter pylori or exposure to irritating substances can increase gastric burden, causing symptoms such as dull upper abdominal pain and bloating. This condition is not directly related to cholecystitis. Patients are advised to take medications such as omeprazole enteric-coated capsules, lansoprazole enteric-coated tablets, or compound aluminum-magnesium-glycyrrhizinate tablets as prescribed. Appropriate medication use supports recovery of gastric health.

In addition, conditions such as cholangitis may also contribute. During an episode, it is important to manage diet carefully and avoid raw, cold, spicy, or irritating foods.
