Introduction
Anticholinesterase drugs refer to cholinesterase inhibitors. Anticholinesterase drugs are divided into reversible and irreversible types, containing neostigmine, pyridostigmine bromide, ambenonium chloride, physostigmine, demecarium bromide, and organophosphates, respectively. These drugs inhibit the activity of cholinesterase and thereby achieve therapeutic effects.

Cholinesterase inhibitors refer to drugs that inhibit the activity of cholinesterase.

Cholinesterase inhibitors are divided into reversible and irreversible types. The reversible agents include neostigmine, pyridostigmine bromide, ambenonium chloride, physostigmine, and demecarium bromide, while the irreversible type mainly includes organophosphates. These drugs work by inhibiting cholinesterase activity, thereby achieving therapeutic effects. They can be used to treat conditions such as sequelae of poliomyelitis and myasthenia gravis, helping restore skeletal muscle tone and slow heart rate. After surgery, if a patient develops reduced gastrointestinal function, cholinesterase inhibitors may be used to promote gastrointestinal motility and accelerate排气 (gas passage).

These drugs can also be used to treat glaucoma and help lower intraocular pressure. It is essential to strictly follow medical instructions or the drug's label when using these medications.
