Introduction
Having two menstrual periods within a month at age 10 may be due to the ovaries not yet being fully developed, resulting in an irregular menstrual cycle. It could also be caused by poor hygiene leading to bacterial infection and pelvic inflammatory disease, with inflammation extensively spreading in the pelvic cavity. Additionally, genetic or immune factors might cause endometriosis, thereby disrupting the menstrual cycle.

Having two menstrual periods within a month at the age of 10 may be caused by non-disease factors, or it could result from medical conditions such as pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis.

I. Non-disease factors

This may occur because the ovaries have not yet fully matured, leading to an irregular menstrual cycle. This condition usually resolves on its own as the child continues to grow and develop.

II. Disease factors

1. Pelvic inflammatory disease

Poor hygiene may lead to bacterial infection causing pelvic inflammatory disease, in which inflammation spreads and multiplies within the pelvic cavity. Treatment may include medications such as metronidazole tablets, tinidazole tablets, or amoxicillin capsules, taken as directed by a physician.

2. Endometriosis

Endometriosis may be triggered by genetic or immune system factors, resulting in menstrual cycle disturbances. Treatment under a doctor's guidance may include medications such as ethinyltestosterone tablets, megestrol acetate tablets, or dydrogesterone tablets.

In addition, uterine fibroids may also be a possible cause. It is recommended to identify the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment accordingly.
