Can I prepare for pregnancy while receiving rabies vaccinations?

Rabies vaccine generally refers to the vaccine against rabies. It is usually safe to conceive after receiving the rabies vaccine, but it is recommended to undergo relevant medical examinations before conception.

The rabies vaccine is an inactivated vaccine used clinically for pre-exposure or post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. It helps the body produce protective antibodies to prevent the onset of rabies and typically does not affect fertility or pregnancy planning. However, if scratched or bitten by animals such as puppies or kittens suspected of carrying the rabies virus, one may become infected with the virus and develop rabies, which can seriously affect health. It is therefore advised to receive the rabies vaccine within 24 hours after exposure.

Some individuals may experience side effects after receiving the rabies vaccine, such as fever or skin itching. In such cases, it's advisable to rest for a while and wait until a hospital examination confirms the absence of the rabies virus before attempting to conceive.
