Guizhi Fuling Pills are typically composed of Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi), Poria (Fuling), Moutan Cortex (Danpi), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), and Persicae Semen (Taoren). They are brownish honey pills that function to invigorate blood circulation, resolve stasis, and eliminate abdominal masses. They are commonly used to treat or improve conditions in women such as abdominal masses (zhengjia), amenorrhea due to blood stasis, menstrual pain, and persistent postpartum lochia.
The above medications are generally contraindicated in pregnant women to prevent adverse effects.
