Can chronic superficial antral gastritis be completely cured?
Whether chronic superficial antral gastritis can be completely cured depends on individual circumstances. If the condition is mild, it can often be cured; however, if the disease is more severe, it is usually difficult to achieve a complete cure.
1. Can be cured
Chronic superficial antral gastritis is associated with dietary habits and poor immunity, which may lead to Helicobacter pylori infection, causing symptoms such as upper abdominal discomfort, belching, and nausea. When symptoms are mild, oral medications prescribed by a doctor—such as omeprazole enteric-coated tablets or mosapride citrate tablets—can effectively treat the condition. Once the Helicobacter pylori bacteria are eradicated, the disease can be considered cured.
2. Cannot be cured
If the condition is more severe and accompanied by indigestion symptoms, it typically falls within the scope of functional dyspepsia, which is relatively complicated to treat and generally cannot be completely cured.
In addition, patients with chronic superficial antral gastritis should pay attention to their diet: avoid spicy and irritating foods, refrain from overeating, and consume more easily digestible foods and fresh fruits to ensure adequate nutrition and boost immunity.
