Where is the Huichun acupoint located?
The Huichun acupoint is located at the tip of the fingers, 0.1 cun from the edge of the fingernail.
Huichun is not a single specific acupoint, but refers to ten acupoints in total, thus also known as the Shixuan points. The human body has ten fingers, and the area located 0.1 cun from the nail margin at the tip of each finger is collectively referred to as the Huichun points. Massaging these points can help refresh the mind, relieve fatigue, clear heat, and alleviate spasms. These points can also be treated with acupuncture. For patients with certain conditions such as fainting or epilepsy, pricking the points to release a small amount of blood may help relieve symptoms. Additionally, these points have auxiliary therapeutic effects for nervous system disorders, heat-related illnesses, and local ailments.
When massaging these points, patients are advised to use techniques such as fingertip tapping or pressing. If a sensation of soreness or distension is felt locally, massage should be stopped. Excessive pressure should be avoided to prevent tissue damage. In clinical practice, these points are often used in combination with other acupoints such as Quchi (LI11), Shaoshang (LU11), and the Twelve Jing-Well points. When used together, they can help treat conditions such as high fever with convulsions, delirium due to high fever, and infantile seizures, although specific treatment should be determined according to individual patient conditions.
