Introduction
Arterial blood lactate refers to lactate in arterial blood. The normal range for arterial blood lactate is 0.5–1.7 mmol/L. Blood lactate levels depend on the metabolic and synthetic rates of the kidneys and liver. Arterial blood lactate is measured through a blood draw and testing to assess disease severity, and it can also be used to monitor therapy with biguanide medications. Under normal conditions, the level ranges from 0.5 to 1.7 mmol/L.

Arterial blood lactate usually refers to arterial blood lactic acid. The normal range for arterial blood lactate is typically 0.5–1.7 mmol/L; values exceeding this range should be treated promptly.

The level of blood lactate primarily depends on the metabolic rate and synthesis speed in the liver and kidneys. It is generally measured through an arterial blood draw to assess lactate levels, which helps evaluate disease severity and monitor treatment with biguanide medications. Under normal conditions, the value ranges from 0.5 to 1.7 mmol/L. Elevated levels may indicate reduced oxygen availability in body cells, leading to increased anaerobic glycolysis and consequently higher lactate production.

Arterial blood lactate levels may exceed the normal range due to factors such as hypoxia, intense physical exercise, diabetes, or metabolic disorders. When abnormalities occur, it is recommended to choose an appropriate treatment approach based on individual circumstances.
