Introduction
Whether using an electric fan is harmful to the body generally depends on the duration of use and the wind speed. Electric fans can create a cooling sensation and also accelerate air circulation within a room. During hot weather, when using a fan, sweat on the surface of the skin evaporates more quickly. If the fan is used for a short period, at a low wind speed, and not directed straight at the body, it typically does not cause harm.

Whether using an electric fan is harmful to the body generally depends on the duration of use and the wind speed.

1. Not harmful

Electric fans provide a cooling sensation and can accelerate air circulation in a room. Especially during hot weather, using a fan helps evaporate sweat from the skin's surface. If the fan is used for a short period, at a low wind speed, and not directed straight at the body, it will not cause harm.

2. Harmful

Extended use of an electric fan may cause the skin to lose moisture, leading to dryness, itching, peeling, and similar symptoms. Prolonged exposure to the fan's cool air can also cause joint stiffness and pain due to cold air irritation. In some cases, it may even lead to discomfort such as headaches, sore throat, and coughing. It is recommended to avoid directing the fan straight at the body; instead, place the fan at a certain distance away to prevent physical discomfort.

Therefore, it is advised not to use an electric fan continuously for long periods. It's best to turn it off periodically after a certain amount of time.
