Why isn't my one-month-old baby feeding well?
A one-month-old baby's poor feeding may be caused by physiological reasons or pathological factors such as indigestion or oral ulcers.
1. Physiological Reasons
If the baby is distracted by external stimuli during feeding, resulting in lack of concentration, it may lead to a temporary phase of reduced interest in feeding. However, this is a normal physiological condition that typically does not require special treatment and will gradually resolve on its own.
2. Pathological Reasons
1) Indigestion
The digestive system of a one-month-old infant is relatively delicate. Improper feeding leading to excessive food intake may cause indigestion. It is recommended to follow medical advice and use medications such as probiotic tablets, Bifidobacterium triple viable capsules, or Bacillus subtilis and bifidus viable granules to alleviate symptoms.
2) Oral Ulcers
If oral ulcers develop due to zinc deficiency, the baby may experience pain while feeding. Under medical guidance, supplementation with medications such as lysine zinc gluconate granules, zinc gluconate oral solution, or zinc sulfate is recommended.
In addition, conditions such as oral thrush may also cause feeding difficulties. Timely medical consultation is advised, and self-medication should be avoided.
