Introduction
Shingles generally causes lymph node swelling. Treatment for lymph node enlargement due to shingles should be based on the severity of the viral infection. After developing localized lymph node swelling from a shingles infection, avoid frequent pressing or squeezing. Maintain a light diet, avoid seafood and overly greasy foods, to prevent worsening of shingles symptoms.

Shingles is a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. Common symptoms include skin rashes, pain, and neuralgia. The reason shingles can lead to swollen lymph nodes is that after viral infection, the body's immune system triggers an inflammatory response, resulting in lymph node enlargement. Therefore, it is quite normal for shingles to cause lymph node swelling, and in cases of shingles affecting the face and neck, the degree of lymph node enlargement tends to be greater than in other areas—it is a physiological stress response.

Treatment for lymph node swelling caused by shingles depends on the severity of the viral infection. If the swollen lymph nodes are relatively small, antibiotics such as cephalexin tablets or amoxicillin tablets may be used under medical supervision. However, if the lymph nodes are significantly enlarged, surgical removal under a doctor’s guidance may be necessary to relieve the condition.
