Introduction
Huanhuncao (Herba Huperziae) usually cannot relieve cough or expel phlegm. Huanhuncao is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb that clinically functions to detoxify, reduce swelling, promote blood circulation, and remove blood stasis. It is primarily used to treat conditions such as lumbar pain from overexertion, traumatic bleeding, snake or insect bites, and can also help alleviate dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia, bloody stools, and rectal prolapse. However, it does not have therapeutic effects on coughing and phlegm production.

Resurrection grass usually does not have the effect of relieving cough or expelling phlegm. Instead, it can promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis and stop bleeding.

Resurrection grass is a type of traditional Chinese herb that clinically functions to detoxify, reduce swelling, invigorate blood circulation, and resolve blood stasis. It is primarily used to treat conditions such as strain-induced lower back pain, traumatic bleeding, and bites or stings from snakes and insects. It may also help alleviate symptoms like dysmenorrhea, excessive uterine bleeding, bloody stools, and rectal prolapse. However, it is not effective for treating cough with phlegm. Under medical guidance, medications such as Fufang Xianzhuli Oral Liquid, Chuanbei Pipa Syrup, or Juhong Pian may be used instead.

Diet should remain light during treatment. Foods that nourish yin and moisten the lungs—such as radish, pear, and lily bulbs—are recommended. Avoid overly sweet foods, as they may increase phlegm production.
