Introduction
Cephalosporins and "Xianfeng" (Cefalotin) belong to the same class of antibiotics, but not all cephalosporins are classified as Xianfeng drugs. Xianfeng drugs are a type of cephalosporin with different spectrums of activity. Moreover, each generation of cephalosporins targets different pathogens. When treating inflammatory infections, appropriate medication should be selected under the guidance of a physician.

Cephalosporins and "Xianfeng" (Cefalotin-related) drugs belong to the same class of antibiotics, but not all cephalosporins are classified as "Xianfeng" drugs. "Xianfeng" drugs are a type of cephalosporin, differing in their spectrum of activity.

There are five generations of cephalosporins. For example, first-generation agents include cefalexin, which is primarily effective against infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria, showing good efficacy but relatively high nephrotoxicity. Second-generation agents such as cefuroxime are highly effective for treating respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria, with lower nephrotoxicity.

Third-generation agents like ceftriaxone are effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, achieving excellent therapeutic outcomes with relatively low toxicity. Fourth-generation agents such as cefepime exhibit stronger activity against Gram-negative bacteria, with virtually no nephrotoxicity, while also maintaining strong efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria. Fifth-generation agents like ceftaroline are particularly effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), providing potent antibacterial and bactericidal effects. "Xianfeng" drugs belong to the first generation of cephalosporins.

Moreover, each generation of cephalosporins targets different pathogens. When treating inflammatory infections, it's essential to select the appropriate drug under medical guidance.
