Introduction
Whether showering once a day is considered frequent depends on the individual and varies among different population groups, such as infants, adolescents, and the elderly, each of whom may have different bathing needs. For pregnant and postpartum women, whose skin metabolism is particularly active, it's important to maintain regular bathing. For those approaching delivery or in the postpartum period, hygiene of the genital area should be maintained by showering once or multiple times daily, depending on the presence and condition of lochia.

Whether bathing once a day is considered frequent depends on different population groups, such as infants, adolescents, and the elderly, as bathing frequency varies among these groups.

1. Infants

For babies under one year old, it is generally recommended to bathe twice a week before they start crawling, with no more than every other day. If the baby becomes more active or sweats heavily during hot summer months, the bathing frequency may be moderately increased to keep the skin clean and dry.

2. Adolescents

During adolescence, physical activity levels are high and sebaceous glands are more active, leading to increased sweating and accumulation of dirt. Therefore, it's important to increase skin cleansing frequency, and daily bathing is appropriate.

3. Elderly

With aging, metabolism slows down, sebum production decreases, and skin tends to become dry. Frequent bathing is not advisable, as it may worsen dryness. During hot summer months, bathing every day or every other day is acceptable, but in winter, bathing once every 1–2 weeks is sufficient.

In addition, for pregnant and postpartum women, whose skin metabolism is heightened, regular bathing should be maintained. For those close to delivery or in the postpartum period, bathing once or several times daily can help ensure perineal hygiene, depending on the presence of lochia.
