Introduction
Pits and white spots on the tonsils may be caused by non-pathological factors or pathological conditions such as tonsillitis or tonsil stones, which require targeted treatment. The tonsils naturally contain crypts, which can make the surface appear pitted. White spots might result from food debris remaining in these crypts during swallowing, and generally do not require special treatment.

Pitted tonsils with white spots may be caused by non-pathological factors, or they may result from pathological conditions such as tonsillitis or tonsil stones, which require targeted treatment.

I. Non-Pathological Factors

The tonsils naturally contain crypts, which can make the tonsil surface appear pitted. White spots may occur when food debris remains trapped in these crypts during swallowing. This typically does not require special treatment and can be resolved by rinsing with adequate amounts of water.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis caused by pathogens such as *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, non-hemolytic streptococci, or adenovirus infection may lead to the formation of pus-filled blisters on the tonsillar mucosa due to inflammatory stimulation, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. Treatment may include medications such as ciprofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, or cefdinir dispersible tablets, used according to medical advice.

2. Tonsil Stones (Tonsilloliths)

When the tonsillar crypts are chronically blocked, mucus and dead tissue cells cannot drain properly, leading to calcium salt deposition and the formation of tonsil stones, which cause this condition. Treatment may involve undergoing a tonsillectomy at a qualified medical facility.

Patients experiencing such symptoms are advised to undergo appropriate medical evaluations and actively cooperate with treatment. Maintaining good oral hygiene in daily life is also recommended.
