Expelled a large piece of tissue using Xaomishuan (vaginal suppository)
Passing a large piece of tissue-like mass after using Xiaomishuan (a vaginal suppository) may be a normal reaction, or it could be caused by underlying medical conditions such as cervicitis or cervical polyps. The details are as follows:
1. Normal Reaction
Xiaomishuan is a medication inserted into the vagina. If too much medication is used, the affected area in the vagina may not fully absorb all of it, leading to residual drug material. However, due to the astringent effect of the medication, these residues do not immediately discharge after use. Only when the accumulated residue reaches a certain amount will it be expelled from the body. This situation does not require special treatment—continue using the medication as usual.
2. Disease-Related Factors
1) Cervicitis
In patients with chronic cervicitis, using Xiaomishuan may also lead to the expulsion of a fleshy mass through the vagina. This is likely due to long-term local irritation causing hyperplasia of tissue and formation of a benign growth (polypoid tissue). If there are no other abnormal symptoms, continue regular medication. However, if accompanied by itching, unusual odor, or discomfort in the genital area, oral antibiotics such as cefixime capsules, levofloxacin capsules, or cefaclor capsules may be taken under a doctor’s guidance.
2) Cervical Polyps
If cervical polyps are present, similar phenomena may occur after using the medication, likely due to necrosis and shedding of the polyp tissue. In severe cases, it is recommended to visit a hospital for surgical removal of the polyps.
Besides the above, this phenomenon could also be caused by vaginitis. If a patient continues to pass large tissue-like masses for an extended period after using Xiaomishuan, they should seek medical attention at a hospital to identify the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
