Introduction
Cervical microcysts refer to cervical glandular cysts, a common manifestation of chronic cervicitis, and in most cases represent physiological changes of the cervix. Cervical glandular cysts occur during the process of squamous epithelium replacing columnar epithelium in the cervical transformation zone, when newly formed squamous epithelium covers or extends into the cervical glandular orifices, blocking the openings. This obstruction impedes drainage of glandular secretions, leading to accumulation of fluid and resulting in increased vaginal discharge and vaginal fluid leakage.

Cervical microcysts generally refer to cervical glandular cysts, a common manifestation of chronic cervicitis and, in most cases, represent physiological changes of the cervix. The specific analysis is as follows:

Cervical glandular cysts develop when, during the process of squamous epithelium replacing columnar epithelium in the cervical transformation zone, newly formed squamous epithelium covers or extends into the cervical glandular orifices, blocking the openings. This obstruction impedes drainage of glandular secretions, leading to accumulation and cyst formation. These cysts are usually asymptomatic, although some patients may experience increased vaginal discharge, vaginal fluid leakage, redness of the vulva, or vulvar itching.

In general, cervical glandular cysts do not require special treatment. If contact bleeding occurs and persists despite repeated medical treatments, interventions such as laser therapy or cryotherapy can be performed under the guidance of a qualified physician. For large cervical glandular cysts, surgical management options such as cyst fenestration or hysteroscopic electroresection may be considered under professional medical supervision.
