Introduction
Normal fasting blood glucose levels vary depending on the population. For healthy individuals, normal fasting blood glucose ranges from 3.9 to 6.1 mmol/L. In patients diagnosed with diabetes, after medication treatment, fasting blood glucose should normally be between 4.4 and 7.0 mmol/L. For pregnant women with gestational diabetes, after treatment, fasting blood glucose should be controlled within the range of 3.9 to 5.3 mmol/L.

The recommended normal fasting blood glucose level should be analyzed according to specific population groups, such as healthy individuals, diabetic patients, and those with gestational diabetes. The details are as follows:

1. Healthy Individuals

Fasting blood glucose refers to the blood glucose level measured after an overnight fast of at least 8–10 hours without food intake (water intake is allowed). Normally, fasting blood glucose ranges from 3.9 to 6.1 mmol/L.

2. Diabetic Patients

For patients diagnosed with diabetes, the target fasting blood glucose level during medication treatment should be between 4.4 and 7.0 mmol/L.

3. Gestational Diabetes Patients

For patients with gestational diabetes receiving treatment, fasting blood glucose should be controlled within the range of 3.9 to 5.3 mmol/L.

If abnormal blood glucose levels are detected, prompt medical consultation and treatment are recommended.
