Introduction
Pulmonary atelectasis refers to incomplete expansion of lung tissue. Incomplete lung expansion generally means that a patient has developed atelectasis, which may be caused by bronchial obstruction, alveolar instability, or chronic long-term lung inflammation. These conditions affect the lungs in various ways, leading to decreased air content in the lungs. Patients may consequently experience symptoms such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, and localized cyanosis.
Pulmonary expansion failure means atelectasis.
Pulmonary expansion failure generally refers to the condition of atelectasis in a patient's lungs, which may be caused by bronchial obstruction, alveolar instability, or long-term chronic lung inflammation. These factors lead to various forms of impact on the lungs, resulting in reduced lung air content. Patients may consequently experience symptoms such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, and localized cyanosis. The extent and location of atelectasis can be determined through methods such as chest CT scans or invasive surgical exploration. After diagnosis, treatment may include medications such as cefazolin sodium for injection, amoxicillin capsules, or penicillin sodium for injection, as directed by a physician. If excessive sputum is present in a patient with atelectasis, expectorant therapy may also be required.
Patients with atelectasis are advised to avoid excessive physical exercise during treatment. They should maintain a balanced diet, increase fluid intake, seek prompt medical attention for any discomfort, undergo regular follow-up examinations, and promptly clear secretions from the airways.
