How to treat bacterial vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis can be improved through general management and medication.
1. General Management
In daily life, it is important to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the genital area. The external genitalia can be washed daily with clean water. Underwear should be washed in boiling water and sun-dried to prevent bacterial growth. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment to prevent cross-infection.
2. Medication
Under a doctor's guidance, topical medications such as metronidazole suppositories, tinidazole suppositories, or metronidazole vaginal gel should be used to control bacterial infection. If topical treatment proves ineffective, oral medications such as metronidazole tablets, tinidazole tablets, or clindamycin hydrochloride palmitate ester dispersible tablets may be added to suppress the growth of anaerobic bacteria and achieve effective treatment.
In daily life, a balanced diet is essential. Spicy, stimulating, and greasy foods should be avoided, as they may interfere with the effectiveness of medication and hinder recovery.
