Can I take a shower after receiving the cervical cancer vaccine?
After receiving the cervical cancer vaccine, you generally should not take a bath on the same day. However, if no discomfort occurs the next day, normal bathing is acceptable.
The cervical cancer vaccine is designed to prevent the development of cervical cancer. Since the vaccine is administered via subcutaneous injection, on the day of vaccination the injection site may not have fully closed and local symptoms such as redness, swelling, or pain may occur. Bathing at this time could allow shampoo, body wash, or other products to irritate the skin or mucous membranes, increasing the risk of infection at the injection site. Therefore, bathing should be avoided on the same day. It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours after vaccination, and only bathe when there is no pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site. Doing so will not cause any significant adverse effects.
After receiving the cervical cancer vaccine, monitor your physical condition closely. If any discomfort occurs, seek medical attention promptly.
