Introduction
Brucellosis generally refers to Brucella infection, with symptoms such as fever, excessive sweating, and joint pain. Treatment methods include general management, acupuncture therapy, and drug therapy, which can help delay disease progression if addressed promptly. Additionally, patients may experience manifestations such as neuralgia and headache. For severe cases, surgical intervention may be considered, along with regular follow-up examinations and consultation with a physician.

Brucellosis generally refers to brucellar disease, with symptoms such as fever, excessive sweating, and joint pain. Treatment methods include general treatment, acupuncture therapy, and drug therapy.

I. Symptoms

1. Fever

Fever is the most typical symptom, presenting as undulant fever with body temperature reaching up to 39°C, accompanied by chills and headache, particularly evident in the afternoon or at night.

2. Excessive Sweating

Some patients experience a drop in fever during the night or early morning, followed by profuse sweating, often resulting in soaked clothing and bed sheets.

3. Joint Pain

As the disease progresses, large joints may become involved, causing migratory pain. If the condition worsens, suppurative changes may occur.

II. Treatment Methods

1. General Treatment

For patients with severe sweating, promptly dry the skin, take warm water sponge baths daily, and change clothes regularly. During acute phases with fever, bed rest is recommended and unnecessary outdoor activities should be avoided.

2. Acupuncture Therapy

For patients with mild symptoms, acupuncture may be considered based on individual conditions. Stimulating acupoints such as Dazhui (GV14), Zusanli (ST36), and Fengmen (BL12) can help reduce joint swelling and pain.

3. Drug Therapy

Once the disease develops in adults, symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, and poor appetite may appear. Medications such as streptomycin sulfate for injection, doxycycline hydrochloride for injection, and compound sulfamethoxazole tablets may be used under medical guidance. These drugs help eliminate pathogenic microorganisms from the body and alleviate discomfort.

In addition, symptoms such as neuralgia and headache may occur. For severe cases, surgical intervention may be considered, and regular follow-up visits with a physician are recommended.
