How is infection in bronchiectasis treated?
Bronchiectasis with infection should be treated under the guidance of a physician through general management, medication, and physical therapies to prevent further worsening of symptoms.
1. General Management
If there is obvious bleeding from blood vessels, it is recommended to follow medical advice and perform hemostasis using sponges or medications during bronchoscopy.
2. Medication
If the infection is severe, treatment under medical supervision with medications such as moxifloxacin hydrochloride tablets, ampicillin capsules, and formoterol fumarate tablets can effectively suppress bacterial progression and relieve wheezing symptoms.
3. Physical Therapy
If allergic to certain components of medications, it is recommended to follow medical advice and use physical methods such as postural drainage, chest percussion, and nebulized inhalation to improve symptoms.
In addition, for patients with particularly severe symptoms, recurrent infections, or hemoptysis, surgical treatment such as lobectomy may be recommended under medical supervision.
