At what age does menopause occur?
Under normal circumstances, women will naturally undergo menopause between the ages of 45 and 55.
Between the ages of 45 and 55, women experience a significant decline in ovarian function. The ovarian follicles are either depleted or the remaining follicles no longer respond to gonadotropins. As a result, follicles cease to develop and produce estrogen, failing to stimulate the growth of the endometrium, leading to natural menopause. However, the age of menopause is influenced by genetic factors, lifestyle, and working environment, so the exact age varies among individuals. Menopause occurring before age 45 is considered early menopause, while menopause after age 55 is considered late menopause.
After menopause, women are advised to undergo appropriate medical evaluations at a hospital to assess their overall health and rule out potential diseases.
