Introduction
Cervical erosion usually refers to cervical ectopic columnar epithelium, which is generally not serious. Cervical ectopic columnar epithelium typically occurs due to high levels of estrogen in the body, causing the columnar epithelial cells at the internal cervical os to shift outward and form red, granular secretions visible on the external cervical os. This appearance resembles erosion when viewed with the naked eye, but usually involves no pathogenic bacteria and is considered a physiological phenomenon. It generally resolves spontaneously as estrogen levels change in the body.

Cervical ectropion is typically caused by high levels of estrogen in the body, leading to an outward displacement of the columnar epithelial cells from the cervical canal. This results in red, granular secretions visible at the cervical opening. It appears eroded to the naked eye but usually does not involve pathogens and is considered a physiological condition. Most patients do not exhibit obvious symptoms, although some may experience contact bleeding. The condition often resolves spontaneously with hormonal changes and is generally not severe.
For patients with cervical ectropion who experience contact bleeding, anti-inflammatory medications may be used as directed by a physician. Commonly used drugs include Bofukang suppositories, Xiaomi suppositories, and Metronidazole suppositories.
