Introduction
The differences between decidual polyps and cervical polyps are as follows: Decidual polyps generally grow on the endometrium, while cervical polyps grow on the cervix. Decidual polyps are usually oval or round in shape, whereas cervical polyps may appear lobulated or conical. The former is commonly associated with abnormal vaginal bleeding, menstrual disorders, and similar symptoms. The latter often presents with increased vaginal discharge, dyspareunia (pain during intercourse), and related symptoms.

Decidual polyps and cervical polyps can be differentiated based on their location, morphology, and associated symptoms, as detailed below:

1. Location

Decidual polyps typically develop on the endometrium, forming benign growths that protrude from the endometrial tissue into the uterine cavity. In contrast, cervical polyps generally occur on the cervix and are mostly caused by cervical erosion or infection.

2. Morphology

Decidual polyps usually appear oval or round in shape, whereas cervical polyps may present as lobulated or conical.

3. Associated Symptoms

The former is commonly accompanied by abnormal vaginal bleeding and menstrual irregularities. The latter often causes increased vaginal discharge and pain during intercourse.

Patients are advised to visit a hospital for thorough evaluation, allowing a qualified physician to accurately identify the type of polyp and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
