Introduction
Patients with pharyngitis continuously produce saliva, making it difficult to sleep. This is mainly due to inflammation stimulating increased glandular secretion. Treatment options include general management, antibiotic therapy, or antiviral medications. Whether using antibiotics or antiviral drugs, medications should be taken according to medical advice and prescribed guidelines; self-medication or misuse of drugs should be avoided.

Patients with pharyngitis who constantly produce saliva and are unable to sleep mainly experience this due to inflammation irritating the throat area, leading to increased secretion from local glands. This can be managed through general treatment, antibiotics, or antiviral medications. Specific treatment methods are as follows:

1. General Treatment

Pharyngitis usually causes discomfort in the throat. Patients should get adequate rest, minimize or avoid speaking, maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and humidity, ensure good ventilation, drink plenty of water, and refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol to prevent worsening of symptoms.

2. Antibiotic Therapy

If the condition is caused by bacterial infection, medications such as Amoxicillin Capsules, Roxithromycin Capsules, or Cefixime Capsules may be used under medical supervision.

3. Antiviral Therapy

If caused by a viral infection, antiviral medications such as Oseltamivir Phosphate Granules, Ribavirin Granules, or Pudilan Xiaoyan Oral Liquid may be used.

In addition to the above treatments, traditional Chinese patent medicines may also be considered, such as Yinqiao Powder or Liu Shen Pills.
